Match Resolution & Real-World Scoring

Nothing is simulated. Duels are settled entirely by football events that happened on a real pitch, in front of real cameras.

Resolution Flow

The path from a real football match to a settled duel has four steps, and the player can follow every one of them in real time inside the app.

Real-World Fixture
Live Data Feed
Real Goals Evaluated
Winner Declared
  1. Real-world fixture. Actual league and cup matches kick off. Your squad is locked before the first whistle, so nobody can react to news mid-window.
  2. Live data feed. A licensed sports data provider streams confirmed goal events to the platform within seconds of them happening.
  3. Real goals evaluated. Each goal is matched to the footballer who scored it and credited to every squad that selected them. Your duel score climbs while you watch.
  4. Winner declared. Once every relevant fixture finishes and the feed confirms the final data, the duel resolves and the pot is released.

Winning Condition

The outcome of a duel between two managers is decided by one number: the total real goals scored by the five footballers in each squad during the active matchday window. Higher total wins. There is nothing else in the calculation.

Deliberately absent are the things that make other games feel arbitrary. There are no card rarity multipliers, no stamina bars, no hidden form modifiers, and no random rolls to break a deadlock. A goal from a cheap, unfancied forward counts exactly as much as a goal from the most expensive card in the game.

This is the fairest possible arrangement, and it is also the most demanding. You cannot buy your way past a bad team selection. If your five do not find the net, you lose, no matter what you paid for them.

Settlement Engine

Formally, a squad's score for a duel is the sum of the goals scored by each of its five members over the match window.

Scoresquad=Σi=15Goals(Pi)

Where Pi is player i in the five-man squad. The squad with the higher total wins the duel. Secondary tie-breakers, such as real assist counts or a clean sheet for your goalkeeper, apply only when both managers finish on the same number of goals.

In Web3 mode this calculation is not a promise, it is a contract. Both managers lock their stake into a smart contract vault before kick-off. The verified goal totals are written to that contract, and it pays out the winner without anyone at Byte Grin touching the funds. Anyone can inspect the transaction afterwards and confirm the result independently.

Data integrity is treated as a first-class concern. Goal events are sourced from a licensed provider, disputed or subsequently amended events such as a goal reassigned by a dubious-goals panel are handled by a published correction window, and settlement only finalises once the feed marks the fixture as confirmed.
